Taking inspiration from the vivid symbolism in Octavia Butler’s science fiction novel Dawn, the playful Butler Bench is designed in aluminum with oversized ‘fringe’ constructed from braided leather cord. In addition to creating a fluid sense of movement, the design emphasizes a material that is common in furniture construction but typically remains invisible.
